According to Charleston tour co-host, Representative David Mack, “Voting matters, our lives are touched by the political system every day. From roads, to jobs, to schools, to child support- government influence is everywhere you look.” Co-host Councilman Wendell Gilliard indicated, “We want young people to start exerting influence on the government as soon as they reach 18.” Rainbow PUSH is relying heavily upon local affiliates and supporters like Rep. Mack and Councilman Gilliard to plan tour stops. “People in the area know what issues are most important to them and are in the best position to determine where Rev. Jackson and RPC should visit.” according to Janice L. Mathis, regional RPC VP. Rev.
